I could not finish listening to her "word salad". Why do they keep calling her Governor when she didn't even finish her term? As a non-Christian, I am overwhelmed with "Christmas" before Halloween. How can Christians say they are being shut out when every TV, radio and store are full of Christmas for MONTHS. It is not autumn, it's Christmas. My religion does not exist until I say Happy Holidays, then get my ass chewed out by some Christian who proceeds to tell me about the "Reason for the Season" which was Pagan to begin with! They do not seem to recognize other religions or their holidays during the same month or even week as their one day. A day that was picked out as a tool to get Pagans to join their church and has nothing to do with the real birth of Christ.
The commercialization of Christmas has created an atmosphere of debt and stress for most families and taken away from the true meaning of the ONE DAY. It does not spread cheer. It spreads dread and stress over an extended period of time like nothing else.

However, no matter how much we rail about the commercialization of Christmas as such, without it, the festive season wouldn’t be complete.
It used to be a nice tradition to celebrate Christmas with your family by giving each other modest presents, and all joining in with a hearty meal in the middle of winter….then moving on to celebrate the New Year a few days later with drink at midnight. Well that is a long way away from the modern commercialization of Christmas which has been hijacked by the big stores to make us feel guilty if we haven’t spent every $ in our wallet and maxed out all our credit cards. The endless advertising, the peer pressure to buy ever more extravagant presents, the new outfits, the parties and the never ending drinking. Some shops get up to half their annual revenue over the Christmas and new year period, so in a times of economic difficulty you just know that the pressure to spend is going to be turned right up.To object indignantly to the commercialization of Christmas and to bemoan the loss of the true meaning of Christmas has become a cliche. So I risk being trite when I choose to discuss “the true meaning of Christmas.” I would not have chosen this topic if I did not think that the true meaning of Christmas has become obscured. But it is not the materialism and commercialization of Christmas that I want to oppose here. My objection is to how the “true meaning of Christmas” popularly offered in its place obscures the true meaning of Christmas.Whatever your beliefs Christmas is a great time to relax and have fun with your friends and family. You will have a much better time if you are not worried about your maxed out credit card! Make your own Christmas and your own rules! The commercialization of Christmas is really sad since it puts huge pressure on people to conform to an excessive spending pattern and to feel inferior if they don’t spend up to the hilt like everybody else. Well, look around you …..take a good look and I bet you see a lot of fat people with worried faces. These are the masses who have eaten too much, drunk too much and spent too much. They know it but are afraid to stop. No need to wait until January 1st to make a resolution….you can change any time you want. Start now and turn your back on the commercialization of Christmas…have fun, but on your terms!The commercialization of Christmas is very good for the economy. It is actually one of the best things for it to be honest. It makes people spend more money and pump money into the economy. Most people are sheep and if others are spending because of traditions of buying gifts on Christmas, they will too.
Simply put, the commercialization of Christmas has made it not merely a religious holiday, but an American holiday.
